Recently, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Charlies Angel’s star Elizabeth Banks has joined the cast of Scholastics upcoming Magic School Bus live-action movie. Banks will star as the eccentric teacher Ms. Frizzle as she tries to teach a school of Elementary School children art, history, and biology. Marc Platt Productions and Universal Pictures will help produce the film alongside Bank’s own production company Brownstone Productions.
The film is based on the best-selling Scholastic book series by author Joanna Cole and illustrator Bruce Degen, which follows intrepid Ms. Frizzle and her class, who set out on field trips in their yellow school bus that magically transforms into a plane, submarine, spaceship or surfboard, depending on the science concept being explored in class.
