After the widely successful launch of Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian; it is being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the shows creator Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King) is expected to have a much larger role in the company moving forward. It is even rumored the 2022 untitled Star Wars film may end up being directed by Favreau.

The report also states that The Clone Wars creator and Mandalorian premiere episode director Dave Filoni will also have a key role in the company. Filoni has been apart of Licasfilm “royal family” with George Lucas himself passing along all the knowledge he possess onto Filoni. Episode 9 producer Michelle Rejwan will also have a very specific role in the company as well

It should be noted it’s unknown at this point where this would leave Lucasfilm president Kathy Kennedy. With several directors being fired and projects shelved under her leadership. It wouldn’t be shocking if she steps away after completing her Skywalker saga.
