The Philippou Brothers Will Helm Legendary’s ‘Street Fighter’ Live-Action Movie

Today, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the newcoming Australian directing duo Danny and Michael Philippou is in final talks to helm Street Fighter for Legendary. The duo currently has their first horror film, Talk to Me, set to release later this year and is generating enough buzz to land Street Fighter.

The duo got their start doing shorts on YouTube before landing Talk to Me. Street Fighter will be the third attempt at a live-action movie after the 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and the 2009 film starring Kristin Kreuk. Though both have been panned critically and commercially.
