Corey Stoll Returns as Yellowjacket in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’

In May, actress Evangeline Lilly (who plays Hope Van Dyne) posted a photo of the script on her personal Instagram tagging everyone involved in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (the post has since been deleted). The film is expected to begin filming later this summer (with a brief weekend shoot last month via The DisInsider). Fans noticed the actress tag Corey Stoll in the photo as well as the rest of the cast.

Corey Stoll played Yellowjacket in the original Ant-Man film. He didn’t technically “die” but was reduced to a microscopic size. As we learned in Ant-Man and The Wasp; Janet Van Dyne survived in the Quantum Realm at microscopic size for 30 years. On Vanity Fair’s Still Watching Podcast Joanna Robinson adds: “I do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3.” This lines up with director Peyton Reed’s comments in 2015 with Screen Junkies that Yellowjacket could still very much be alive:

”Well I mean, you guys are making a massive assumption. There’s an assumption here that I’m not quite comfortable with. If you watch his death in the first Ant-Man, the suit is compromised, he shrinks and goes into a thing…I mean, he could be somewhere down in that Quantum Realm.”

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters February 17th, 2023
