Today, a report announced that actor Russell Crowe has joined the long-in-development Highlander reboot movie. Crowe is set to play Highlander’s mentor. The character was named initially Ramirez and was played by Sean Connery. It’s unknown if they will change the character’s name for modern audiences.
Production on the reboot has been slogging for about a decade. However, within the last few years, Henry Cavill boarded the project to star. As well as John Wick director Chad Stahelski and writer Michael Finch coming on board. Production was expected to begin last year but was pushed back to this October in Scotland (via Collider). Amazon MGM is set to produce the project.
