Today, a report announced that British actor Dan Stevens is set to star in the upcoming RoboCop live-action TV series. Stevens has starred in numerous shows, including Downton Abby, FX’s Legion, and most recently Hulu’s Solar Opposites. After years in development, Prime Video officially greenlit the project last month. Stevens instantly rose to the top of the list to star as beat cop turned cyborg Alex Murphy. He takes over the role from Peter Weller, who played the character back in the 1980s. Peter Ocko is set to showrun the series for Amazon MGM and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
