Today, a report announced that Sony Pictures is moving ahead with 24 Jump Street. The R-rated comedy cop franchise had two prior films: 2012’s 21 Jump Street and 2014’s 22 Jump Street. It’s odd that they are skipping 24 Jump Street unless the previously proposed MiB23 crossover Men in Black film, which was never made, is somehow canon to this new film. Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube are all expected to return. Rodney Rothman is set to take over as the helm of the film from original directors Chris Miller & Phil Lord. The duo will stay on and executive produce the sequel. Rothman penned the script for the film alongside Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy.
