Today, a new rumor surfaced that actress Anya Taylor-Joy has entered talks for the female lead in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. Taylor-Joy is best known for a multitude of projects, including The Witch, The Menu, Split, Furiosa, and The Queen’s Gambit.
We at Knight Edge Media reported several days ago that the studio was seeking a Caucasian female in her 30s for the role. We speculated that the role could be a recast of Arwen (originally played by Liv Tyler), given that the studio had already committed to recasting Aragorn. However, it is still completely unknown what character this could be for. This comes only a day after British actor Leo Woodall was rumored for the lead role of Aragorn in the film. Production begins this May back in New Zealand.
The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will hit theaters on December 17th, 2027
