Today, Netflix announced a slew of casting for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2. The second season has been wrapped for several months, but many castings were still unknown until now. Surprisingly, the castings included many season 3 characters appearing earlier than expected, including the live-action introduction of Avatar Yangchen.
Dichen Lachman (Severance) will play Avatar Yangchen, Lily Gao (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) will play Lady Ursa, Jon Jon Briones (The Last Voyage of the Demeter) will play Master Piandao, Terry Chen (Sight) will play Jeong Jeong, Tantoo Cardinel (Killers of the Flower Moon) will play Hama, and Dolly De Leon (Ghostlight) will play both Lo & Li. Madison Hu (The Brothers Sun) is set to play a new original character, Fei. She was long a fancast for the role of Mai before the role went to Thalia Tran. Filming on season 3 begins later next month, back in Vancouver.
