Today, Lionsgate announced that actor Kieran Culkin has been cast in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Repaing. Culkin recently won his first Oscar in A Real Pain and an Emmy for HBO’s Succession. He is set to play a young Caesar Flickerman, the flamboyant host of The Hunger Games in the Capitol. Stanley Tucci played the role in the original films.
He was also rumored for the role last month before officially signing on. He joins Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Lili Taylor as Mags, Ben Wang as Wyatt, and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee. Production begins this July in Germany.
