Lili Taylor Boards ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ as Mags Flanagan

Today, Lionsgate announced that actress Lili Taylor has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Taylor is best known for her roles in Outer Range and 2013’s The Conjuring. She will play a younger version of Mags Flanagan, the winner of the 11th Hunger Games.

Due to a stroke, she is also mute in this universe. Actress Lynn Cohen originally played her in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and is often protected by Finnick Odair (originally played by Sam Claflin). Taylor joins a cast that includes Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee, Maya Hawke as Wiress, and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee. Production begins this July in Germany.
