Today, Warner Bros. and HBO officially announced that up-and-coming UK actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout have been cast in the upcoming Harry Potter reboot TV series. After an extensive open casting call, these actors won the roles of the three lead heroes, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint made the roles famous in the early 2000s films. These young actors are expected to play these iconic roles from the novels over the next decade, as each season will cover a different book in the wizarding saga. The first season will follow the story of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Francesca Gardiner has previously announced to be the showrunner of the series alongside director Mark Mylod. Production is set to begin later this summer in Leavesden, UK.
Harry Potter will stream on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2027
