Today, we at Knight Edge Media have learned that several new writers have joined the writer’s room of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3. The scripts for season 3 have already been written, as was season 2 before season 1 debuted on Prime Video. However, several new writers have joined showrunners Patrick McKay and J.D Payne and fellow season 2 writers Helen Shang (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Justin Doble (Stranger Things), and Nicholas Adams (Fail State).
The new writers include Jonathan Wilson (The Crown), Ben Tagoe (Coronation Street), and Griff Jones, who has been promoted from writer’s assistant to staff writer. It’s unknown which writers are writing which episodes in the upcoming third season, but it is expected to follow the fall of Númenor. Production is expected to begin sometime in 2025.
