Today, comic book creator Todd McFarlane announced the title of his long-in-development Spawn movie reboot: King Spawn. The film has been developing for over a decade, with horror studio Blumhouse Productions coming on board to produce it in 2017. Jamie Foxx has long been rumored to star as the antihero, but it’s unknown if he is still attached. The announcement also confirms that the film has been written by screenwriters Matt Mixon (Yesterday Was Everything), Malcolm Spellman (Captain America: Brave New World), and Scott Silver (Joker) since they joined the project in 2022. Producer Jason Blum told ComicBook.com that he hopes to have the film in theater by 2025.
