Marvel Studios Hits Reset on ‘Daredevil: Born Again’; Fires Head Writers Chris Ord & Matt Corman

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Marvel Studios wants to reset Daredevil: Born Again. The upcoming 18-episode series was paused in July due to the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes that took over Hollywood. In September, Kevin Feige sat down and reviewed what was already filmed from the series. Unfortunately, he didn’t like what he saw and quietly fired head writers Chris Ord & Matt Corman (Covert Affairs). As well as the remaining writers and directors. The studio began looking for new writers once the WGA strike ended and will most likely cut down the series from its 18-episode commitment.

The studio is also looking for actual showrunners in the traditional sense instead of headwriters. While many of the studio’s shows had showrunners as head writers, they weren’t operating the production like a typical television show. All of this came to a head with this year’s Secret Invasion receiving the worst-rated Marvel series ever. The studio will now change course and focus on fewer streaming shows for Disney+ instead of “fixing it in post” with their previous tries. The studio will simply step away from its limited-series format and focus on a serialized multi-season approach moving forward.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently slated for 2025
