During the press tour in October, YouTuber John Campea revealed a script was already done for the sequel, according to The Direct. Today, Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter to announce he will not (more or less) be a part of the upcoming reboot of the DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran as Black Adam. This comes after Johnson helped develop a Black Adam feature film for the last 15 years. He was the loudest supporter to have Henry Cavill return as Superman before the executive change. Some say that Cavill was Johnson’s “pawn” to control a certain part of the DCU though it’s unknown how far he was willing to go with or without Cavill. In the end, Johnson joins Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, and Gal Gadot, DC actors who will not return under the new leadership. Jason Momoa is rumored to be returning as the character Lobo.

Black Adam is currently on HBO Max today
