Today, Variety announced that Legendary Pictures will be moving forward on a sequel to Godzilla vs Kong. The original film was the mega-crossover event film after the studio brought us Godzilla, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Kong: Skull Island. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was released in theaters and HBO Max simultaneously. The sequel will begin production later this year. Returning to Australia to film the project like its predecessor. It’s unknown if director Adam Wingard will return as he has several other projects in the pipeline.
