Recently, Collider spoke with producer John Davis about his recent film Jungle Cruise. the producer revealed that Waititi has pivoted from his animated Flash Gordon movie to live-action “Taika is writing it. It was a movie that was a huge influence on him growing up. It is one of his favorite movies. He initially said to me, ‘Let’s do it animated.’ I said, ‘Okay.’ Then we got into it and started developing it and he said, ‘No, let’s do it live-action.’ I said, ‘Even better.'” The director had all his top executives watch the original film before beginning work on Thor: Ragnarok. The comic strip debut in the 1930’s but was made famous by the 1980’s feature films starring Sam J. Jones with music by Queen. It’s unknown who will take up the mantle of Flash Gordon in this new film.
