Tim Burton is currently underway developing Wednesday, his first television series for Netflix. The famed director has always been a fan-favorite to develop an Addams Family project. He is creating a series centered on the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams, Wednesday Addams.

WEDNESDAY is a one-hour mystery drama charting Wednesday Addams’ misadventures as a student at Nevermore Academy: a very unique boarding school snuggled in deepest New England. Without ever blunting her bite, the show offers the chance to humanize Wednesday. Season one will chart Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, and confronts a dark supernatural threat. All while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Currently, the streaming network has sent out a casting call searching for Hispanic actors as the leads Wednesday, Morticia, and Gomez Addams. Fans have for years fancast Oscar Isaac (Star Wars) in the role of Gomez Addams. He even went on to voice the character in the 2019 animated feature film. It would be great to see him reprise the role for the series. However, due to production starting this summer and his commitment to the Marvel Studios Moon Knight series. It’s highly unlikely he could find the time. Other fancasts for Morticia Addams could include Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec, Legion) or Stephaine Beatriz (Brooklyn 99).
