Today, a report announced that Icelandic actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has joined the cast of How to Train Your Dragon 2, a live-action movie. Ólafsson is slated to play the lead villain, Drago, from the original animated film. Ólafsson was also rumored to appear in God of War as Thor, though that has yet to be announced. He will join the younger cast of Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, and Harry Trevaldwyn. As well as Gerard Butler and Cate Blanchett returning to play Stoick the Vast and Valka after voicing the characters in the animated films. Dean DeBlois returns to write and direct the film. Production begins later this month.
How To Train Your Dragon 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 11th, 2027
