Today, a report announced that Marvel Studios is already hard at work on pre-production for Avengers: Secret Wars. The film will be a direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday out next Christmas. Filming on Avengers: Doomsday began earlier this year with the announcement of many returning Marvel Comic characters, including the X-Men. The studio used a 5-hour-long viral stream of actors’ chairs to announce the cast. Though many actors in the film have yet to be officially announced. According to the report, the studio is in post-production on Avengers: Doomsday, with additional photography happening in early spring. While Avengers: Secret Wars will officially begin filming next summer, back in the UK.

The final film in the Multiverse Saga is expected to dwarf all other cast lists as it will be the final entry. This film has long been rumored to feature most of the legacy Marvel characters seen over the years, like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine or Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, though that has just been pure speculation. After Secret Wars comes out, Marvel Studios is expected to completely move away from the multiverse. The Russo Brothers will once again return to direct the massive crossover film for the studio.
Avengers: Secret Wars is slated to hit theaters on December 17th, 2027
