Today, Variety announced that actor Micheal B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed) will produce a live-action adaption of Static Shock through his Outlier Society production banner. Jordan said in a statement “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around Black superheroes; our community deserves that. Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros. on this initial step.”
The Milestone and eventual DC Comics character were a staple character in the late 90’s and early 2000s through his own Kids WB animated series. Which eventually crossover with Justice League Unlimited. The character was also featured in the past two seasons of Young Justice as a runaways member. The new feature film was announced during August’s DCFandome virtual Milestone Comics panel. No word on a director or star, but many have already fancast Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin to play the title hero Virgil Hawkins.
